ABSTRACT

Objective@#To develop a scientific oncology missed nursing care self-rating scale suitable for hospital culture background in China, and to test its validity and reliability.@*Methods@#The initial scale was formulated by literature review, qualitative interview and delphi expert consultation. A total of 388 clinical nurses from Shanxi Province were selected by convenience sampling. Item analysis was used to filtrate items. The validity was evaluated by using evaluation scale of construction and content validity, and the reliability was tested by using internal consistency, split-half reliability and retest reliability.@*Results@#Oncology missed nursing care self-rating scale consisted of 33 items and 4 dimensions including nursing assessment, nursing plan, basic nursing and nursing intervention. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) revealed that 4 factors accounted for 63.664% of the accumulated variances. The scale-level content validity index (S-CVI) was 0.904. The Cronbach α coefficient was 0.948, the spilt-half reliability coefficient was 0.786, and the retest reliability coefficient was 0.833.@*Conclusion@#Oncology missed nursing care self-rating scale has good validity and reliability, which can be used as a measuring tool for oncology missed nursing care.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the quality of life and its influencing factors in elderly patients with malignant tumors in rehabilitation period. Methods A comprehensive questionnaire on the quality of life of the elderly patients with malignant tumors was designed with reference to the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) QLQ-C30 scale. The quality of life of patients with malignant tumor diagnosed in Shanxi Cancer Hospital from November 2009 to November 2013 was investigated and evaluated. All data were analyzed by SPSS 13.0 software, and SAS9.2 software was used for statistical analysis. The influencing factors were analyzed by multiple linear regression analysis. Results Sex, marriage and other factors had no influence on the quality of life in elderly patients with malignant tumors (P> 0.05). The social and medical factors, such as age, educational level, number of children, medical form (economic status), discharge time, treatment style, etc were the main factors affecting the quality of life of patients (all P<0.05).Conclusions Poor physical condition, social relationship, psychological factors and medical factors have effect on quality of life in elderly patients with malignant tumor.Strict adherence to doctor's advice and popularization of relevant knowledge, providing family warmth, social support and economic support can improve the quality of life of patients with malignant tumor.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate sexual life associated with hysterectomy of young women and its related factors. Methods Data from 199 patients with hysterectomy were collected.Statistical analysis was performed between the postoperative recovery condition among them, including daily life and sex life. Results There was significant difference on sexual life quality of the patients by hysterectomy among patient age, occupation, education, postoperative time, disease and complication (P < 0.05).The age of 41-50 years and 51-60 years old patients' quality of life satisfaction was significantly higher than that of age ≤40 years old patients (OR =3.8,95 % CI 1.36-10.66; OR =3.6,95 % CI 1.24-10.43).The patients of the occupation of service sectors, workers, and patients with free occupation have a decreased satisfactions compared with that of farmer patients (OR =0.46,95 % CI 0.12-1.75; OR =0.75,95 % CI 0.27-2.12; OR =0.94 95 % CI 0.45-1.98).There was a increasing satisfactions in administrative and the intellectuals (OR =1.11,95 % CI 0.34-3.62; OR =1.33,95 % CI 0.35-5.10).Patients with primary school educations as a reference for comparison, the quality of life of patients with associated college and above degree were increased than patients with primary school (OR =1.15,95 % CI 0.43-3.04),and were decreased in the patients of the high and middle school (OR =0.98,95 % CI 0.46-2.11; OR =0.63,95 % CI 0.26-1.54; OR =0.15,95 % CI 0.02-1.27).The quality of life satisfaction of long period patients (7-12 months,13-24 months,24 months after the operation)was significantly higher than that of short period patients with 6 months(OR =1.94,95 % CI 0.65-5.83; OR =6.32,95 % CI 2.17-18.38; OR =8.47,95 % CI 2.92-24.56,P < 0.001).Conclusion The doctors need focus on relative knowledge education of perioperation. It is important to inform patients and their spouses to have the knowledge of female physiology, fully understanding the impact of the extent of surgery on sexual life of patients to enhance the confidence and improve the life quality of patients.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the influence of pravastatin on serum matrix metalloproteinases-1(MMP-1), MMP-9 and its role in prevention of restenosis following coronary intervention. Methods Totally 62 patients after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) were randomly assigned to receive 10 mg/d pravastatin in 24-48 h after PCI for 6 months (n=32) or no therapy (n=30) as control. The blood samples of all patients were examined at admission and 7, 21 d after administration of pravastatin. All patients received follow-up and coronary checking within 6 months. Results TIMI 3 flow was achieved in all cases and residual stenosis was less than 20%. No severe complications were found. ①The use of pravastatin after PCI could significantly reduce serum levels of MMP-1 and MMP-9 as compared with control group (P

ABSTRACT

Objective To determine whether the anti-proliferation effect of L-arginine is due to inhibiting the expression of cyclin dependent kinase-2 (CDK2)、 CyclinE and proliferation cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) in blood vessel after balloon injury. Methods Rats were randomized into three groups: Group S (sham operation group), Group C (balloon injury control group) and Group L (balloon injury + L-arginine group). After 14 days, blood samples were collected for biochemical studies, and the thoracic aortas were harvested for immunohistochemistry. The expression of CDK2、 CyclinE and PCNA were measured by means of computer image analayzer. Results The levels of plasma nitric oxide (NO) in group C were significantly lower than those in group S. Compared with group C, the levels of plasma NO increased (P
